In middle of an old dirt road . , this picker was only exposed about an inch above ground. ( Just so you know, by use of 'Witchin rods' or listening to my "witching intuishion", I fIND !)
First thoughts, Iron, Slag,. My R.E.Magenetimmediatly slid off onto the ground!
The microscope. Lots of different types of matter on the surface including shiny metal particals(In Several different forms).
Some are sphears that almost mathmaticaly faceted to form a sphear!
Next, real close to fourty five minuets cut time, Well...Certainly more to tell. To the PICTS!
Anybody here that has any words or questions, please, and by all means, I need to know all and hunt up a buyer. Eh, I'm probley wrong,But It seems SOOO Right! I've found many amazing things in my many many treks, AND NEVER anything remotely close to resembeling anything like this.A long time friend of mine Has a fair collection of m-rites, And took one look and said "Looks Right to me!"(He sold his 'Rare one on E-bay for more than 800Large! One % of that sounds good to me!

Joe I enjoy reading your posts but you never show the whole picture. Some of us are also a little slow so please take the time to phrase you posts clearly. Close ups are great but Without a reference its impossible to judge size.
Is the surface in the fist picture flat?

Here's what I see from these pictures.....an object that looks metallic & appears to be flat on one side. Based on that the most likely explanation is that a piece of molten metal hit the ground on that spot. I don't see a meteor having a flat surface.

Arizona University has a wonderful department that would be able to authenticate this for you.Free of charge.Yes 007, In his post he does say that he cut it open which would account for the flat surface.

I now see the part that states "real close to fourty five minuets cut time". I suppose the first picture is the cut area?

Yeah, the flat area is the cut. I had all explained, but edited the post to keep it short. It also has many different colors and formations of clear to semi clear, to dark colors of crystals encapsullated by the different formations of what looks to be the same type of metal. it is awesome to look at under the microscope! see something different and new each time. I have also found a few other types of falling stars in another area . different from this, but cool none the less! and only about ten miles away from where this one was found. One, of which, looks to have'veins' or roots all over the surface. Just found that one yesterday so no photos yet, but very interesting!
Also, you of A was my choice for identification. and it's pretty close. do they do walk in's?

I would just contact the science department and explain to them and I'm sure they will put you in the right place.
