Jim,
That's a really nice looking coin ... I'm not much on grading, but to me the obverse looks EF45 and the reverse looks solid AU55/58 ... the toning, IMO, makes the coin really pleasing to look at (especially on the obverse) ...

I wondered the same thing. It appears there is something going on with the MM.

Any way we could get some closeups of the MM?

I've been away for a spell (military does that to you on occasion), I will see if I can get a close-up on the MM.

Obverse is definitely LDS with some signs of heavy polishing. It is the arm and shoulder that bother me, though. I seem to see a lot of fine lines all running in the same direction. Looks to much like wear to me so AU-55.
