I purchased it as an individual coin from an album. It has a very nice salmon pink tone to it.

Indeed ... that's a winner for sure. I say MS65 ..... compares well with some of my TPG MS66 even. Alas not full-steps ..... but a great looking coin. David

Great picture!! So many times people struggle with jeffersons, and you can't see much detail, but this one is great! Looks FS too!

I am far from an expert but I will say MS-65 no FS, but it has WOW luster. Nice pick from the album. Were the rest of the coins as lustrous?

1938 Jefferson's are very elusive with full steps. It had to do with the design. In 1939 they worked over the steps and went from the wavy style to the straight steps and I do believe it has something to do with the height of the obverse causing metal flow on the 1938 reverse to inhibit the detail in what steps are supposed to be there. This is a sweetie! Did you sell it to ianmprice? If so, he's a lucky dawg.
