Here is one from the lot that I can't identify. It was labeled as #003, but I have no reference to compare to.

Where would he get the markers from to identify it as 1971D-1MM-003? I would like to confirm this myself.
Jim, best seen in pics 1 & 4, there is a split in the bottom left corner of the mm.

Scooby, you might have to go to CONECA, to find out. the cross-reference ie CONECA-003. They will have pictures, in most cases. You might try this link: http://varietyvista.com/About%20CONECA.htmIt might help also, if you can get closeup of the MM. Dick

I see the split in the corner of the D; however, there are many splits like that in many mms. I looked at coppercoins and there are no pictures available for the 003 or 004

I have been to the CONECA variety master listing page many times before looking for DD's and RPM's and have never seen pictures, only boxes with descriptions. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place?
As far as the variety vista page, I only see what mm styles were used for that year.

I agree! That is why I would not leave Chucks' site, for any reason. There may not be pictures of every one, but, if Chuck, or Bob, or Coop have seen it, it will be in the data base. That is what makes OUR forum the best! Now if you were looking for the 1961D-1MM-000, then you would have anice selection to go thru, only 80. And then there is the 1960..... Always bring a lunch, you may be there a while! Dick

Thanks Dick, but speaking of which, when there are pictures missing, or sometimes it will say "need better specimen", do they want or accept pics from us, or would they like us to send them the coin if we have it?

Are there pictures of RPM diagnostics in the CherryPickers Guide? I'm still waiting on my copy to arrive. A lot of the RPM's I got in "the lot" are labeled, but there are no pictures at coppercoins for me to verify them with. Just wondering where this person ID'd these RPM's. I guess I need to order an RPM specific book.

scooby, I would say "yes" to the question of wanting a "better specimen", or the coin if one has such, so it can be included for the markers, and listing, etc. There are several books, not to ignore Chuck's work on the cents, that cover the RPM's. The one I have is "top 100 RPM & OMM", by James Wiles. It is a CD, and very helpful. Check with Bob, on coppercoins.com, for the answer, and info in that respect. To say "ihave pictures of every RPM, would mean I would have to have a HUGE reference library, (which I do not), and it would qualify, as a "collection" in its own right!. That is to say, there is no "one " book that has them all. I dio believe CC does have the most complete database available, however. Dick

They do have the best database and I am truly grateful for the work they have done, and if I can contribute and help to fill a few "gaps", I'd be more than happy to.
I could submit pics, or even lend them the coin itself if they want to absolutely verify what they are posting.
As far as the coin above, I guess I'll just have to take everybody's word that it is #003, not that I have any doubt, but it would still be nice visually verify it against known markers.

The image I have in another publication has an image of a damaged one. But the location appears to be the same. Its hard to tell for sure when only part of the numbers on the date are present. But it looks correct from what I can see. You might post if on coppercoins and see Bob would like to take images of it.
