Hello,
I have purposely NOT indicated what years they are to avoid guesstimates.
These are two different years. What I need to know is WHAT obverses they are. I know some of you are pretty sharp with these things.
Honestly, I only know what ICCS designated 2 of them as. But I think they are wrong...

Don't believe what Charlton's says. These are all obverse #2.Obverse 3 and 4 are two of many variants of obverse 2

DBM - kind of a discussion crushing reply. Teasing slightly, you seem to have more than a passing knowledge of this stuff.
Ignoring that, I vote for Obv 1 on number 6

DBM,
it is all fine and good when you say: do not believe Charlton
BUT whom are we to believe?
what are you basing your statement on?
I remember the previous post by artido well. And I just checked your picture again.
You suggest that this is an OBV 1.
What makes you believe that this is an obv 1.
Carlton has several marks that would have to be present.
Charest has another which is not in Charlton.
SO, which is which, and who is right?
ONE of the six I posted is ever so close, even to yours......
BTW, there are only 71 and 72s in the picture. 2 of them ICCS obv2, but ever soooooo different.
DBM, perhaps, if you own the coin, you could post a "hot" picture of the whole coin?

Vicky is not my area of interest at all but I am greatly interested in this conversation. I too only have the books, so let's hear the detailed explanation from the more experienced.

Here is an obverse 1

25-Cent-Vicroria-Quarters-What-Obverse????
A Victoria 25 cent can be OBV1 if and only if it has the T-I-A alignment as appears in this example,.I don't believe Charlton's mentions this fact, but rather leads you on a chase looking for other markers.

Here is obverse 2

25-Cent-Vicroria-Quarters-What-Obverse????
Notice the alignment of the T-I-A here. This is the marker for OBV2 (also OBV3&4 if you believe in them).

Here is what Charlton's refers to as OBV5,which I believe should have been named obverse 3

25-Cent-Vicroria-Quarters-What-Obverse????
Note the T-I-A alignment here, different again.
More on this later.

Ok DBM... I can see what you are pointing to.
With all respect fully recognizing your knowledge and experience, what support / proof do you have that YOUR version is the correct OBV 1 version?
I could point to other differences between 1 and 2 and simply claim MINE or "that one" is the correct version.
Or go with Charest or Charlton.
AND, the question is only about 1 and 2, NOT about the others...

IMO, it will boil down to in more ways than one, as to to which version the TPG's are using to determine OBV 1.
looking forward with great anticipation to your explanations.

What is not mentioned here is there are 1 variations of the Obv 1 .. And I agree with HHH as to who do we beleive, and who determines what book or marker is the correct one in fact... What I can say is the coin I had posted sold to an extremely knowledgable collector who had coin in hand and thoroughly examined it and came to the conclusion OBV1 no doubt..
