Can anyone tell if this is a type 2 proof from the picture. I can not and don't know how or have the software to enhance this picture in order to tell. When enlarged it gets too fuzzie to tell.

1981-S-Proof-SBA-Type-2??

They are rather hard to tell apart sometimes. The way it was explained to me several years ago: the ends of the "S" look like tiny drops of water. If you have a 2010 Red Book, there are pictures of the 3 types of the S on page 226. Hope this helps.

In my opinion it might be the type 2 with the picture being what it is , it appears to be the "not rounded type" meaning the top bulbous serif is not rounded as opposed to being more wider and flat appearing.

This is just my opinion from some very distant pictures.

PS, Does the "S" appear to be flat looking?

To me, it kinda looks like the top of the S appears like a type 2 but when I expand the pic, the S takes on a shape that is NOT flattened. It is too distorted to make the call. I hate to play tag without a decent shot. I guess I'll pass on it. Thanks for the input!
