Finally got this one in hand and would like your grade assessments based on my pics. Its a vam38 by the way.

This coin has semi-pl surfaces so its a challenge for me to photo this coin and I am not at all pleased with the pics but thats the best I can do at the time being.

Thanks

I don't believe its a vam38, your left leg is clearly doubled and the U,N and M are broken like VAM 40, I don't have time to verify it right now, so check it out....

I'm not sure. The dealer I purchased it from attributed as Vam38. It also has the doubled liberty that is discussed with vam38 and not vam40. I also see the die chips in front of the eye that vam38 has.

Interesting. VAM-40 is the only 7/8TF with broken obverse letters, but these "breaks" are wrong - the you isn't even involved normally. I gotta see this more clearly when I get home from work.

post a picture of the reverse legs and tail feathers and partial wreath,: the picture you post shows , eagles left leg is doubled, VAM 38 legs are not doubled, My quick guess is VAM 40 do to the broken letters, but I can't make out much of the other details,, please post some more pic!!

OK. I'm home; I checked the pics of my (former) own copy, and a new-slab ANACS VAM-38 from Heritage and they both show the same obverse broken you & N details as this coin. I'm comfortable with 38 for it.
