For years I've tried to solve the problem of storing my extra hight quality coins. I've been using air tite capules fore some time
now. I have so many I need a better way to store them.

I believer I have found it. The lighthouse coin tray. There is a differences in the size of the lighthouse and air tite.

I can not fine anywhere what the actual size of the holes in the
lighthouse coin trays are. Has anyone sized up the lighthouse
coin trays to the air tite capules? Any help would be appreciated.

I am not sure what information you are looking for.

In my experience Lighthouse makes different cases and different types and size trays for those cases.

I can show you what I have, then maybe you can let us know what you are hoping to find out.

As you can see below, I have have lighthouse (hard) 2X2 holders in lighthouse coin trays. In one tray I have Proof ASE in the round mint holder and they fit pretty nice.

Thanks Gold Rush58 for your reply. I like your storage system.
I guess what I was looking for was the outside dia. of the lighthouse
and air tite storage capules. I wanted to know if the air tite capules would fit in the lighthouse coin boxes.

After allot of searching on the Internet, I did fine the information I was looking for. Dealing with two different product
lines there is not an exact fit. I do think I can make it work.

I do like the air tite capsules better then the lighthouse.
I would be interested in your opinion or anyone's opinion on this.

I spent years in the army moving form place to place. Some cold and wet, some hot and dry. Most of my coins were stored
in 2x2s in a box. Many were darken and have spots. I'm sure
many coin collector have had any having this problem.
Thank You Harry

If I had to guess I would say the Air tite capsules are the better product.

The gold coins my father and I buy are put into Air tite's before going in the SDB.
They seem to hold up very well.

I think Leuchthaus is very good. It is very popular in Europe. If you collect other country too, they have the size. I just stuck with Whitman. I bought many some time ago, at that time, I earn better money and it was before I have kids. I also collect German and Netherlands coins. Now, it is too expensive to switch, besides, Whitman do not have world coin sizes. Leuchthaus is not inexpensive. The best if you can wait until close to Christmas, order direct to the Leucthaus USA, they give you 20% Nov to Jan. One thing I have to mention, Leuchthaus has no protection to the lens. Something higher than the lens, to prevent the lens to get scratches if you lay it on the table. I believe it is same as Airtite. Whitman lens is recessed, it is not easy to get scratch, but it crack easier.

There has been some discussion on the PCGS boards about this recently. It might not be a bad idea to go over there and check it out.

Hello.. I appreciate the response to my post.
I plan to use both Lighthouse and Air Tite capsule. The
research on this subject has been quiet an experience.

Most of my collection is make up of US coins. I have spent
over half of my 22 years in the army over seas. I was able to
collect examples of most countries coins that I have been in.

My over all problem has been to store and enjoy the coins.
It is so inconvenience when they are stored in boxes. I took the
leap and ordered the 10 tray case with an assortment of trays.
I guess I,ll fine out if I like the set up.. Harry...
