The color just seems so unnatural.

Looks like it has been cleaned as there are areas around date & mm plus shoulders and lettering that show a more natural state. Color is always hard in photo's. IMHO this coin has not been harshly treated in the past.

Howdy Scooby, the amazing thing to me is that the reverse is bigger than the obverse! A Magician's coin, for sure! I won't quit my day job.

It very well could have gotten that way during circulation.Doesn't look as though it's been whizzed or purposely scrubbed.I beleve the reason that the reverse is so much larger than the obverse is post mint damage.

LOL! I noticed that too when I was cropping the pictures! The pictures don't really capture how "fake" the coloring looks. It's almost gold-looking in hand.
The cheek/neck area of the first pic is closer to how the entire coin looks.

It's getting a little strange around here. Is there mold in the air conditioning system or something? I'm of the opinion that this coin, at a bare minimum, went through the laundry in a jeans pocket.

The weird part is the obverse weighs 1.62 grams, and the reverse only weighs 1.49. Why would the reverse weigh less when it is so much bigger?

Perhaps the reverse is Zinc?

It must have been those Leprechauns.
It must have been mix in with those gold coins .. in that pot by the rainbow. That caused the odd golden color.
And when the leprechauns found it in with the gold coins .. they put a spell on it .. that makes the front and back different sizes ...
