According to US mint website:

"The Coin Production figures represent all of the "circulating" coins produced by the United States Mint, including the coins sold through the numismatic bags & rolls program. These numbers do not include the "proof" or "uncirculated" quality (i.e. UNC sets) coins produced by the Mint."

So The 1.68 million 2010 nickels minted should be for circulation and will probably be out by this time next year.

My mother just got a 2009 P dime in change in Maryland and is holding it for me. I haven't seen one yet in North Carolina.

I don't think you will see these for a long time.

Last year at this time many hundreds of 2009 nickel rolls had been sold on ebay. If memory serves me correctly they had already minted over 80,000,000 nickels by this time last year. This year they have minted 113,000,000 dimes and only 1,700,000 nickels.

You may be looking at something extremely hard to get, at anytime.

It was mid May last year, when the first 2009 nickel sold on ebay for $102.50. That was when I started roll searching. I have now searched 109,000 nickels and still have not found a 2009. I believe most of them are still sitting in the federal reserve banks. There seems to be just a trickle of them being released. I believe that the mint will continue making nickels for 2010, but they won't be released until the 2009's are gone.

That's right. Manny a US Army guy from Puerto Rico sold the first one. He was stationed in Germany, and his dad in PR shipped the coins to him from PR. His mistake was being interviewed by Coin World and disclosing where the nickels came from. With that lead I acquired over 1,000 rolls at face. Others followed suit. I firmly believe if he didn't tell the location, that he would've had a monopoly for 4-5 months.

2009-D dime bonanza at local pizza parlor tonight.

I deliver pizza a couple nights a week [this job is helping survive the recession as an out-of-work architect] for a local pizza chain.
Tonight when I paid for a coke at the register, I received a 2009-D dime in my change. Being really happy with the find, I wrapped it up in receipt paper and placed it in my back pocket, separated from the rest of my change. At the end of the night when I turned in my delivery money, I asked the manager if there were anymore 2009-D dimes inside the register. Sure enough, they started out the day with an entire roll.

I was able to buy $3 dollars worth at the end of the night. What a find. I am going to search through them to find the dime with the least amount of bagmarks and place it in my album. The rest I will protect against the elements and keep for awhile in hopes that the value goes up.
