Very nice! I have still not seen a 2009 dime in true circulation. My only encounter was with the one that came to my wife in the March of Dimes letter.

Does anyone think that they will be worth a lot of cash in 20 years?

Hey There, First post, but thought I could add to the conversation. I just bought a bank box of 2009 D dimes for $375. I am hopeful that the value of them will go up in the years to come based on the low relative mintage in 2009. You might be thinking that I got ripped off, and maybe I did, but my exposure to this investment is only $125. I have hardly the credentials to say with any authority that it is a good investment, but the next few years or decades will let me know. What do you guys think? Laimbeer4452

Forget buying boxes of '09. 2010 is almost half over and less than 2 million nickels have been produced? These are the ones to scoop up.

Quote: Where should one look for 2010 nickels? Hi and welcome to the forum. I don't think any have been even struck yet and some of us are wondering if they are even going to mint any for circulation at all. I just found this for April 2010 http://mintnewsblog.blogspot.com/20...il-2010.html2010 Jefferson nickel - Denver 0 0 Million 2010 Jefferson nickel - Phil. 1.68 Million I would not be surprised if these are going into mint sets and that the matte or satin finish era in mint sets is over.

Thanks, Wheezydog, and I appreciate the welcome. Great info, learning everyday as I am new to the numismatic side of things. Mostly an investor/collector of silver bullion (bars, ASE's, maples, etc.) but trying to diversify. Laimbeer4452

As a f/u, if they go straight towards the mint sets, then these should be very hot upon release given the fact that there will be no circulating nickels for 2010. Folks would be snatching up this set for the Jefferson nickel almost exclusively. Is my logic correct?

I would think so, probably be something like the 1970 D half dollar scenario. Unless they continue with the matte finish coinage. Maybe somebody has already ordered and received the Dollars and Quarters unc sets that have been already released. If these are the satin or matte finish unc coins then I would suspect that all unc mint set coins will be the same. For me, this has been a headache because I just have to have every nickel. I have to collect a proof, a matte P & D and a regular 2009 and that regular 2009 D nickel is still a hole in my set.
