I find myself working on 4 different sets at once as well as collecting TPG coins. I'm close to finishing up on 2 of the 4 sets. And I get side tracked purchasing TPG coins. How does one stay focus? Any advise fellow forum members can give will be greatly appreciated!

I find it hard to just work on one thing at a time. I can't offer you advice on this. The only thing I can say is this: "It's OK!"

You'll get those sets completed eventually!

I'd be happy if I could work on just 4!

Currently I have two sets going, but I am going to start two more soon. I don't see anything wrong with it!

I think it's a very rare thing for a person (a coin collector) to have an iron clad focus on just one Set.......and follow it to completion, and then move on to the next Set. I certainly can't do it !
Actively.....right now, I have a new Lincoln with Proofs Album going, a new Jefferson with Proofs album going, a new Roosevelt with Proofs going, a new Washington Qtr. with Proofs going, a Kennedy with Proofs going, an Ike with Proofs going, a Sacagawea/Native Dollar with Proofs going......
This is in combination with many other "older" albums and folders too ......
This also includes some "upgrading" because I also "roll hunt" and on occasion I'll find a better specimen for the old Lincoln album or Memorial folder or the Jefferson folder or whatever.
I've been buying O.G.P.'s to break up for all of these new albums....and so far, I've got all uncirculated condition or Proof or Silver Proofs in the "new" albums !.......it's sooooo fun ! ....
The shorter Sets get closer and closer to being done.....and that "is" exciting......but I agree........ it's "the journey, not the destination that is important".......

So........ just stay "focused" on only ONE SET ! ...... Good Heavens NO ! ...... I wouldn't DREAM OF IT ! ....

Plus, if you focus on one set, you may miss some real nice coins or upgrades for a nice price because they are not on your current "target" list. I just picked up a nice '31-S Lincoln and 1878 8TF Morgan for really good prices that I would have missed if I were focusing on my ASE's or Washingtons, or Kennedy's.............

How true.

I bounce around a lot. I have five sets now that need to be finished (this does not include the open-ended modern coin sets that I continue to collect from circulation).

Ummm...It's called hobby attention disorder.
I stil have a problem focusing on, well, coins, trains, comics, tokens, railroadiana, vintage toys, baseball cards, non sports cards....well, you det the drift.
When you make a decision, I say...Yea. good luck with that, tell me how it works for you

One thing that may or may not be a problem is that I collect Jefferson proofs and TPG Jefferson proofs. I'm thinking that by collecting both of those it seems to me that it is some what redone-dent. Its like dividing up what ever cash that I can put towards my hobby, and not doing justice to either set! I have brought my Jefferson proofs up to snuff. And my State Quarters, I'm two coins away from completion. State silver proofs sitting at 9 and counting down. So I am making progress!
