A few days ago I bought the following coin:
A-Strange-Coin
Can anyone provide me with any information about it? How much is it worth?
I heard it might be a coin made to commemorate the bettle Ocativan and Mark Antony won over Brutus in Greece.

This coin a Semis was struck to commerate the battle between Augustus and Mark Anthony at Philippi Macedonia in 42 BC. Struck circa 31 BC or later. obverse: VIC-AVG, reverse: COHOR PRAE PHIL. Here is one from my collection. Value depending on condition from $10-60.

Thank you for the answer.
I am glad the coin is indeed related to an important historical event.
Shame it is in such poor condition. Your is much better.
Also, looking at your coin, it seems mine is quite of centered. is this so or it got si deformed over time?

These coins were struck by hand so it's not unusual to see them off centered or miss shaped.

I know they are struck by hand, it is just that I thought the people who stuck them where really precise. Obviously, making ancient coins was much harder than I thought it was :).
