hi any idea what coin this is?
a google search suggests 6 penny queen elizabeth coin c. 1550-1600
but no sure how rare it is

I'm no hammered expert but it appears to be a base metal copy of the first issue gold sovereign of Elizabeth I (1558-1561)

The top image is upside down, the bottom one turned 90 degrees clockwise.

It is a copy of Elizabeth I's fine sovereign (= 30 shillings), not extremely accurate though, especially on and around the queen. There's a number of discrepancies, I'd just like to mention the crown of the monarch not protruding enough into the legend and the complete absence of mintmarks. I believe this would be a fairly recent fantasy issue.

I think you can tell that there is something odd about thsi "coin" when you see it for the first time.Itīs the sort of "coin I wouldnīt buy on a fair.Nice piece do.
