Sorry if this thread has been made already. Anyway, one of mine is sellers calling a VF or EF coin a 'gem' on ebay, its such a stupid use of the term...

Also sellers that, for a $5000 coin, just say "nice coin you be the judge" or some other really short description.

Perfect addition to your collection, all the coins are described as key dates, pictures in the enlarged view are the same size as in the thumb nail view, pictures taken from across the room, I don't know anything about coins(then why are you selling them and why is the opening bid so high?)
treasure chest , cigar box or just a box full of coins, (Box does not come with the coins) why not just take a picture of a pile of coins then?
I could go on but I think its obvious that hype does not get it with me.

Lumping a semi decent coin with a ton of crappy ones to sell as a lot in hopes that a bidding war will break out.

Also, I'm only 25, so I'm not your typical customer in a coin shop.. I hate it when I go in somewhere new and basically get blown off to any question I have because they dont take me serious.. they have that "don't waste my time" attitude. A lot of shops have lost my business because of that.

Coins92, That is an interesting auction. It is amazing that the bidding is up to $765 dollars! I know the seller is being deceptive, but it is hard to believe that a buyer (actually more than one!) would bid that kind of money on an auction without reading it carefully. I really wonder what ebay will do if the buyer figures out it is a replica and complains.

Saruma, ebay will allow the bidder who has discovered he has been duped to cancel his bids. If he has already won the auction, ebay will assure he gets his PayPal payment returned. It appears that someone had already complained based on the wording of the description revision at the bottom. Also, I have seen a couple of coins described as KEY DATE in the listing title that were actually key dates. Go figure.
