Congratulations on the completed set. I really like the 1916-D - the reverse almost looks like an F12 coin.

Unbelievable set! That must have cost you a fortune. If you dont mind me asking, how long did it take you to complete the set. And did you buy all the coins or did you roll hunt as well?

So when are you going to crack that slab and press the 1916-D into the album with your bare thumb? Just kidding - great set - congratulations!!

Thank you all for your comments! Quote: Unbelievable set! That must have cost you a fortune. If you dont mind me asking, how long did it take you to complete the set. And did you buy all the coins or did you roll hunt as well? Well, I kind of cheated. I bought the entire set minus the 16-d for $200 about a year ago. That part wasn't very expensive. At one point, I had an AG-3 16-d, but I sold it. I just recently purchased this VG-08, and THAT one did cost a fortune..lol. Quote: So when are you going to crack that slab and press the 1916-D into the album with your bare thumb? LOL, no. This is one of the few coins that I will leave in the slab. It is actually velcroed to the inside front cover, so it will always go with the set. Quote: So........whats next? Spousal tax. I still need one more coin for my 7070. After that I will probably focus on gold if it stays below $1200.

Congratulations! I would have a difficult time leaving that 1916-D in the slab, although I understand your reasons for doing so.

Nice set! I have been putting together a set in similar condition and only have one left. I bet you can guess which one.

Nice set. I completed my set but with a 1916-D in PCGS AG-3 (I like yours better). I moved on to Barber dimes and am nearing completion on that set. I highly recommend the series.

I actually think you should crack the 16-D. IMO its a VG-10 and you may very well get that grade back when you resubmit it.
