I purchased this lot today for really only the 1918 in there as it looks way better then the one I have with a big cut right across the obverse of the coin. So with that being said and wanted an up grade, what would you estimate the grade of the 1918 in this lot http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...refresh=trueim assuming f - vf let me know what you think thanks, Bryan

From that small pic, looks like a strong EF to me. Post a good pic when you the coins and we can down a grade.

Bryan - I've purchased lots from this seller (and his other usernames). I think the coin may be EF. The sellers pictures do not normally do some of the better coins in the lots justice. Johnny can vouch for this - see his other recent threads with the 1921, etc.......
I also see 1927? mintmark, 1928?mintmark, a type 1 (1917), and a few other possibilities.
Let us all know what you find when they arrive! Congrats.

I can't view ebay from work...:-( so I'll give it a closer look when I get home. I will say there have been some phenomonal coins in these lots! Good luck!

It looks high-end VF to me, 30/35; quite likely cleaned. Nice! There are a couple of other ones with potential in there, including a 1917 type 1 like afcop said. I bid on one earlier and just found out that I ended up winning it. It went almost exactly for melt at $136.00. It at least has a 1920 d or s in F/VF and a corroded 1919. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...TRK:MEWNX:IT

Humbly agree with the VF consensus, I do. Could it be a 1918-S ... better yet, a 1918/7-S !? Fun lot at a reasonable price, this.

Quote: Theyre so sloppy, they ship $500 coins with junk in a bag?!?!?! They sure do. Here are several examples of $500 coins I've purchased from them that have come thrown together with 40 others in a "junk bag" that is always my biggest fear when I purchase these....how they will react jingling around with their roomates for the 1,000 mile + trip to my house

My question is, "where on earth do they get all of these unsearched coins?" I mean literally, hoard after hoard! And they keep coming! Will it ever end?

It is crazy isn't it? Every week they auction off 300-400 coins or more. The same thing with the Walking Liberty's. I seen them do a single coin auction last week for the first time....a 1924D SLQ in EF that went for a little over $200.
They must've bought some massive hoard of coins, literally 10,000 of them or more SLQ's. Their lots constantly have 1917-1920 coins with visible dates. Often conditions are only G-VG, but occasionally there is some great stuff.

I have bought from them before, the liberty halves and I always wondered the same thing. I bought from them a couple months ago and I find it amazing how many coins they have as everyday its the same coins and amounts
