latman100 Pillar of the Community Australia 1040 Posts	Posted 05/23/2010 06:16 am The latest additions to my George V world type set is this complete set of eight coins that make up the 1923 proofs. Unfortunately a couple of them have had a light wipe, but with a mintage of only 1,402, I am not too concerned. If I manage to find better examples I may upgrade at a later stage. Can you confirm that it is Dutch explorer Jan van Riebeeck's ship the Dromedaris on the reverse of the coins? Report this Post to the Staff

That has always been my understanding. As for what the woman with the anchor signifies, she represents hope.
