I ran out of popcorn a long time ago.
Early on in the thread Bryan said his coin had the diagnostics of the '17. I'll look at pics if they come in, but in the meantime, I'm going where there is fresh popcorn!

I would have had it posted 10 minutes after it's discovery but that's just me.

heck; I didnt want the seller's name. I was just curious where/from whom they were acquired....e.g., coin show/dealer, neighbor/needed munny, ebay/estate sale....or, as someone alluded, passages from and Ellery Quoin novel. ?

OK ,I understand for junk silver but when this topic started he said he only paid a little over melt plus shipping I would think for junk you would pay under melt so you could make a few bucks?

hard to find older silver coins for under melt. I would say for the most part walkers, slq, Mercury dimes, and anything older in those series sell for more than melt. and in most cases unless there culls morgans and peace sell for more than melt

Quote: for junk silver I prefer to call it "bullion investing". Even if it is a dateless mercury, SLQ, or whatever, I have a hard time calling it "junk". These coins have a history and a story to tell. There's no telling what these coins have purchased over and over in their lifetimes and by whom. I respect them for that. I'd bet if anybody had a dateless type-1 SLQ that fit all the diagnostics of a 1916, they wouldn't be calling it junk then!

Amen Scooby - I now have 11 of those dateless Type 1's - but alas - I'm sure they are all 17's.
Hey - can I get some red vines instead of popcorn?
