I've complete my "motto" gold type and been working on my "no motto" gold recently. Nothing fantastic grade wise, since I'm trying to keep it as close to bullion as possible; but it's a lot of fun putting it together. The $20 type 1 liberty seems to be one of the toughest out of the "no mottos".

I only have 3 gold coins. The first one is in an NGC slab graded AU58. The other 2 are Dos Peso restrikes....tiny coins that are pretty hard to get a decent photo of.

Old gold seems to have great beauty even without high mint state. Kinda "softer" & more mellow.

who graded it MS-60? a TPG? imho, that saint is waaaaaaaaay better than MS-60. It looks solid 64 to me with a good shot at 65. These big gold coins are graded more liberally since they have a tendency to pick up heavy bagmarks, and I don't really see hardly any mentionable marks on that one. If she is raw, I'd send her in to get slabbed.

she's led a hard, but likely quite interesting life.
