I picked up a bunch of coins yesterday on ebay. The lot included a set of Sacagaweas with the proofs and Presidential dollars with the proofs. The seller has these all in flips in a binder and labeled some as proof and some as silver proof. That makes perfect sense for the halves but what does it mean for the "gold" dollars? I'm guessing it means they were pulled from silver proof sets. Does that sound right and is there any difference between a dollar from a silver proof set and a normal proof set?
.......Yep.....there's no such thing as a "Silver" Proof Presidential dollar....it's the same coin as the regular Proof Sets. And it's the same for the Sacagawea dollars as well.
I would say you are right and the labeling indicates what type of set he pulled them out of. There is no difference in the dollar coins between the Clad" and the "silver" sets.
