....but not me, not this day. Today, I'm the windshield. 1921 strikes are generally pretty poor. This one is actually a little stronger than some Mint State examples I've seen, but the nature of the marks on the coin makes me think it's AU55-ish. So, the questions for the day: Why is this coin worth north of $300 in AU, and would you be giggling as hard as I am if you'd gotten it for $20?

That's a beauty and I would agree with AU-55 I think it might slide to AU-58 and VAM-1A. Great find for 20 bucks.

In God We Tru! (the last 't' is very weak, more than usual for VAM-1A2!) The "In" looks a bit filled in, too!

I will take a guess and say that is the best $20.00 you have spent in a long time. Nice Morgan.

Hard for me to say it's been circulated or about circulated. The wear looks like poor collector care.
E.g. the scratch on the neck..."lemme looky this under the microscope/loupe" (ssssssssssslidessssssssssssssccccccccccratch it across the surface to pick it up...ugh).
Id dare go up into MS, Dave.

Quote: Id dare go up into MS, Dave. Yeah, it's a slider. You'd have to have it in-hand to see the little things that make me believe it's circulated - some of the marks just don't look like mint-bag stuff. VAM-1A2 is a case of demand affecting price. They're not exactly rare - ANACS alone has over 60 graded - but everybody wants one.

I sure love those days. Great pick up! I have no idea about this VAM thing, but I'm sure I'll get the idea eventually.
