So just how hard is it to complete an up-to-date set of clad Roosevelt business strikes from circulation? Anybody completed one? Tips, tricks, etc to completing this one?

I say it is rather easy, depending on condition. I am still finding all ages of clad Roosevelt dimes in change; but condition varies widely. All of my clad Roosevelt dimes came from circulation. I started them in 1980, so that should be factored in. I should also mention that finding the 2009 and 2010 coins has proven difficult.

I also made a complete set out of circulation a couple years ago without much difficulty. The older ones have obviously seen some wear. I haven't come across any 2009 or 2010 dimes yet though.

I completed one up through 2008 and found a 2009-P at McDonald's today but it was pretty easy. :)

I still haven't found the 1973, 1979, 2006-P, 2009 P and D, and 2010 P and D dimes. I'm sure it's just a matter of time before I come across them. There aren't really any key dates to this series.

The '69 and '71 will prove toughest for most people. For some reason the '78-D is tough as well. Quite a few are tough in nice condition and the mid-'70's can be a bear. For some reason all of these seem to be beat up and worn out.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.

I managed to complete the set from circulation but it took me about a year. However I cheated and bought the 2009 P & D and 2010 P & D off ebay. It helped because a family member had a large canister of change I went through. Lately I've found a couple 2009-P's in change so they're slowly appearing. Haven't found a 2009-D in circulation yet.

The only one that would be virtually impossible to find in circulation/bank rolls would be the 1996W which was only available in Mint Sets.

I did it pretty quickly with just pocket change and then 2 boxes filled all the gaps. They aren't in great condition, but I'm not going to spend money on UNC clad dimes. I have also had problems with the 2009 and 2010s - still gaps in my folder.

In my opinion, this is the only way to complete a clad dime set. A couple of bank boxes should do the trick. Of course they won't all be BU but the worst will probably XF-ish.

It seemed like it took me forever to find a 98-D. Now that I've found one they seem to be everywhere.

I am a (world) coin collector since I was young, but just settle in the United States since 1983. I collected what ever I can get from circulation. Actively hunting modern US coin (clad especially) since Sept 09. Mostly from circulated change that my wife and I got, besides bought a lot from the banks for face value. The easiest set I put together is Dime. I almost completed the P&D sets right away, (almost) all in AU condition. Few P mints, are missing, that I took care during my recent trip to Pittsburgh, Pa. See my post. Only 1968 P and 1971 P are still missing, and 1977 D need upgrade. I don't have 2009 P and 2010 P&D, I am sure I will get them soon. There are not many "unusual" (Double die, no mint mark, error, etc). Lately, I want more, I started completely new UNC sets including S, W, P&D&S Silver, S Proof and P&S Silver Proof. This will takes time and money. I don't know how long, I hope I could post in the future.

Aside from the Silver Rosie's....I think it would be pretty easy to build from circulation. It's also very inexpensive to build from buying Sets from the coin shop, for the most part. Cut those suckers open for the album, then you have all uncirculated and proof examples in there..... very sharp lookin' ! ....
