Just got my notification today that my order for this set shipped today. There goes $180 bucks, so it better sell out fast so I can flip them. Im going to vow that going forward, that I will only buy the low mintage items, that dont cost to much, for the purposes of making some money of them. I got to stop buying all this collector stuff strictly for the purposes of throwing it in a large aluminium box I got, and not doing anything with them what so ever. I dont even spend the time to look at them much anymore, I much prefer the looking and relooking at the decimal circulated coins.

Dollar,
If you don't really enjoy studying the NCLT then I'm with you. Buy only the low mintage then flip'm. But that's risky too. You have to factor in the cost of purchase and the cost of selling. Tripple whammy because you, as an individual, pay a premium that direct merchants don't have to pay.
One option is to become a merchant...

I just got my boxed set today and I have to say that the coins really are very nice.
I should have waited a few minutes longer before I ordered it though, I got certificate #1934/5000......would have been nice to get #1935/5000 instead

If by any chance you are after a specific coin like I am and have bought the entire set,I would appreciate if you could spare the 1 cent coin at a reasonable price.

Just thought I'd close on this thread. The set (5000 minted) and silver dollar (7500 minted) are now sold out at the Mint. I didn't think the dollar would do so well.

I agree with Silver Maple...The R.C.M.'s coins are the purest and most times the nicest coins available...I don't find there Prices any higher than other mints...and I do my checking...believe me...R.C.M. ROCKS

Quote: I didn't think the dollar would do so well. The dollar was a quick sell out (at $69.95) and now sells for $99.95 CAD at local (Canadian) coin shops and online coin dealers. That's quite an appreciation over only a short period of time. Apparently this was a good investment piece.

Quote: Apparently this was a good investment piece. Like stocks, they only proved to be a "good investment" the moment you sell. NCLT have a tendency to settle down once rarity is established and demand has played its part at the early onset of their release. They are superb gems, don't get me wrong. But considering them strictly as an investment is a losing proposition IMO.

As a relatively new collector I've been thinking about which coins I'd most enjoy looking out for. Aside form what I think might be a love for pennies, I'm a fan of the silver dollar.
The reason for the above post is because I really love the 1935-2010 Voyageur set. They feature beautiful designs and I honestly feel like I'd really enjoy having them. Due to the high demand they are way out of my price range. I'm not willing to pay 350$ (saw them selling for that much at a dealer) for them no matter how much I like them.
So my question is this: If I keep on waiting will the value continue to rise or is there a chance my patience actually does pay off and the price will drop again? Can some experts on this shed their knowledge?
Thanks!

I wouldn't count on them going down in price, to be honest. It's a low enough mintage that all silver dollar collectors will want to hold on to theirs, and dealers will keep prices high due to the low number of circulating "sets" that aren't being held.
