Received a call today and had to pick up and file these duplicate yes two exact copies (same serial numbers.(only 1 posted for your enjoyment see below)

Poorly made Counterfeits.
The color you see is the color they are.
Paper is not even close

I just love finding out how bad some people are at trying to create copies.

These have now been logged and filed appropriately.

Got any more counterfeits?
I'll take them off your hands and they will be put to use in a government counterfeit training program

I thought you were down under! What is it that you do rggoodie? Sure sounds interesting though!

So are these inkjet printings? It almost looks as if they inkjetted the background and used a laser printer for the intaglio parts.

Wd, I am not sure if you have watched a show on CNBC (American Greed series) called Funny Money (Episode 31). It was about a guy in LA cranking out $100 bills and how who he was busted. It's worth while watching and I not sure if there is an archive somewhere on the net. Scroll down on this link http://www.cnbc.com/id/18057119

One of the main reasons for the redesigned $100 is that the secret service thinks there is a foreign govt / entity involved in printing counterfeit US currency as the entity seems to have gotten their hands on the printing equipment similar to the BEP. The thinking behind this is that the equipment BEP uses is very expensive and small time operators could not afford it. Ergo, this is where the foreign govt theory comes in.

The guy in LA was using off the shelf items from various stores and surfaced his 100's through the underground / cash economy in LA and according to the secret service was one of the best.

Peace

No not down under
displaced Aussie here in the US
These two bill both appear to be done on an ink jet printer and them after drying submerged in water to soften the paper.

these were easily identifiable as counterfeits and the receiver did not lose any money on the transaction as these were confiscated and the "spenders" left the scene with out any argument or items in hand

Let's just say part of what I do is educational in helping the public sector identify counterfeits.
You might call what I do educational or you might call it enforcement.

I like education.

Your job sounds very interesting! Thanks for posting the story and pics. It's amazing how some people think they can get away with anything.
