We have a winner: arthrene!Read this whole post before you enterI was recently gifted with a coin by a forum member who will remain anonymous. In recognition of this member's generous gift, I've chosen to run a contest dedicated to those who have themselves given in this forum. So, here's the rule: This contest is open only to CCF members who have given away coins/currency/related on this forum. That doesn't necessarily mean just this Contest forum - as long as you've publicly given something of numismatic value away on Coin Community, you may enter. Enter by posting a link, in this thread, of the thread where you've given something away. If for some reason you aren't able to post a link, contact me and we'll figure it out. Over the next few days, I'll be contacting people on my own initiative, based on threads I see in this forum, to ensure the most-possible eligible members are aware of this contest. I will run this contest for two weeks from today. During that period, I will be assigning numbers to each entrant according to a pattern I have in mind. On the evening of June 20, I will pick a number using the generator found at random.org, and that will be the winner. The winner will receive a 1921 Morgan dollar VAM Starter Set. It will consist of the following: http://www.vamworld.com/1921-D+VAM-1F1921-D VAM-1F, characterized by breaks in the M and E of AMERICA. This is an AU, relatively-late die state of the VAM. Also: http://www.vamworld.com/1921-S+VAM-1F1921-S VAM-1F. This one is known as the "Beanie S" for the hat-like die break at the top of the S in STATES. Although this example has been cleaned, it's the only one I've ever seen in 5 years of looking, and ANACS has only graded 3 examples. Also: http://www.vamworld.com/1921-P+VAM-3C21921-P VAM-3C2 Pitted Reverse, in an NGC MS63 slab. This coin shows striking pitting in the UN of UNITED and the LL of DOLLAR. The reverse is double-clashed, as well. It is a Hot 50 VAM, somewhat common in MS63 but only a very few are known in higher grades. There will be another, smaller contest running alongside the main one. I have a small (17.9mm) piece of silver on my desk. The first entrant who guesses the year in which this piece of silver was minted will win it, along with 2 P/D pairs of BU Quarters - Hot Springs and Yellowstone.Good luck, and thank you for the generosity which made your entry into this contest possible.

Quote: One guess per day I assume? Or one guess period? Good point. One guess per entry, and I'll add it to the main giveaway if nobody guesses correctly. Obviously, you two guys weren't right.

Can we nominate someone who has gifted without there being a thread involved? I was the recipient of a couple of most generous selfless acts of kindness and nothing was wanted in return.
If possible, I would like to nominate artdio and chuckster125. I won't specify what or how much, just that they could have easily put these items up for sale and instead chose to enhance my collection out of the kindness of their hearts. There are so many people on this forum that are worthy.
Selfless acts of kindness and generosity like yours SuperDave is what makes this forum such a great community.

Quote: Can we nominate someone who has gifted without there being a thread involved? I like your thinking, Scooby. Sometimes the best among us prefer not to call attention to their giving; that is the case with the person who inspired this contest. So, we'll add another possible qualification: If you have been the recipient of another member's gift of coins, nominate them here and I will contact them with an offer to enter this contest.
