the grade is around VG-8 and is worth around $70.

not a key, but a scarce coin.

Unless I'm seeing things I can see even wear on liberty but can read all of the letters, the coin would technically grade as F-12 and if they are even clearer in hand than in the pic perhaps VF-20.

The value of the coin realistically is between 60 and $80.00 US the spots may knock it down just a bit but its still a nice semi key coin.

The 1908-S is a semi key of the Indian head series.

VG8 has no letters on the head band which I do see some, I don't think in these pictures it quite makes F12, I'll go with VG10...nice coin...

Looks like a solid F-12 to me. You can see all the letters in liberty even though they are weak.

1,115,000 minted in San Francisco compared to over 32 million for the Philly mint that year.

The only year/mint less for the Indian Head cents is the 1909 S with 309,000 minted.

I'd call it a key for the series. It's a good one too!

Another trivia factoid is the 1908-S Indian Head cent was the first branch mint cent ever struck in the U.S. And yes, that coin has close to VF level meat on it. F15 easy. Greysheet Bid in Fine is $100.

I would like to see a clearer picture, from what I can see I'd say F-12 also.
Rest in Peace

i agree with F-12 details, but unfortunately it has some corrosion spots, probably just enough to keep it out of a problem free holder imo.

I'd say solid Fine. Also there was another date with low mintage, the king of teh series, 1877, I think was 852,000.
