I'd give her a solid VF. Getting close to an EF but not quite there IMO.

Nice coin looks like O.104, I'd grade it at VF-35. You should include this on our list of Bust Halfs in the Classic section.

If the clasp was a little more defined as well as the drapery along the bust line you would have an XF half. I agree with VF35.

The coin appears to have very nice patina and thus has nice eye appeal to me.

thanks for the comments guys. Just wondering what does an O.104 mean is this a variety of this coin? If so does this effect value at all?
Thanks

Yes, it's the variety designator; Al Overton was the original codifier of Bust Half varieties and his name is lent to these designations; hence, the "O" before the number. Pretty much all Bust Half die pairs have been identified. O-104 for this year (each separate year is numbered starting with O-101 thru however many die pairs exist) is a common variety, carrying no real premium.

I agree with the VF grades mentioned, and this looks like a very nice example at the grade.

Thanks for the info Dave. Excuse my ignorance but does O-104 mean the the reverse side does not line up with obverse or does it mean something else?
I also thought this looked like a VF-35 coin that's why I asked. However it is graded XF-40 by PCGS, maybe this was graded when they were in a generous mood.

My initial thought was somewhere around VF-35 as well, but I can see how the coin was graded a XF-40. I have a bust half with a bit more wear on the cheek and bust that is graded VF-35 PCGS. Nice Half.
