I voted gas also, but those lines look so close to as the lines in the beard. Almost voted some kind of doubled die.

Well, I think we can safely rule out Doubled die, Machine Doubling, Circulation damage, Planchet damage, Clash from reverse (nothing seems to align without it being a rotated die), Plating splitting, LDS, Incomplete planchet, Die break and Unknown (I think this is known).

So that leaves: Die flow, Die chatter, Planchet gas, Clamshell error and Variety Coin.

I don't think it's a variety or gas. I'm not sure what a Clamshell error or Die chatter is, so through the process of elimination, I'll vote die flow (although, I'm not really sure what that is either).

Ok I'm the one that said Die chatter! Just looks to me that everthing from the bottem up is more pressed! I know I'm probably wrong but would love to know the answer!

Doh...meant to say gas...but clicked on the Plating Splitting...so if you're wondering who the idiot is that thought it was split plating...that's me!
