Please check out the obverses from these new Zealand and Australian coins within this guys youtube post.
They look exactly like the Canadian obverses from those same years.
Is this suggesting that back in those days, the Brits determined what portaraits can be used, and they are not designed from someone within the country where they are going to be used?
Thanks

Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe all British Territories used the current reigning monarch's portrait as the obverse of their coins. Not sure about today, but most of what I have from the 1990's on back share this trait, including Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Bermuda, etc.

Yes I am pretty sure you are right omahaorange! It was Great Britains decision because Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Bermuda, and a few more rcountries were runned and contoled by the british goverment.

During Victoria's reign The Royal Mint used several different obverse designs, which varied by both denomination and colony.

As far as I am aware, the effigy of QEII used on any coins still has to be approved by QEII.

Currently, the UK, Australia & NZ are using the same effigy by Ian Rank Broadley, while Canada & Fiji are using 2 different ones.
life is a mystery to be lived not a problem to be solved
