I separated most of my Mercury dimes and started to look more thoroughly, browse the coneca site to check for errors.

I believe my S variety is differ than the one pictured from the site.

numismo,

I am leaning toward VF 35 or EF 40.
Value?

Here's a link to one of the coneca member selling it in his website: http://www.arsave.com/mercury_dimes

It is at the tail end of the page.

I think he's overly priced, as I don't know the ratio of population to this variety, when the fifth edition of Cherrypicker's guide come out, perhaps will get a better idea. But, it took a lot of search of 1942 S to get one, perhaps thousand plus.

How do you know that it made the Cherrypiker's Guide?

Any way--
Congrats!

Are you the original finder?

TreasHunt,

Answer you the second question first. No. I need to correct myself, I am not the original finder, but found one after looking nearly 2000 1942 S dimes.

Answer to second question. I will need to find it on the net to the source and post it back here again, I hope I can find it after all these time.

Here's the link...you need to scroll to the near 1/3 way from top.

Mac,

Thanks for posting a link to my site. Here is an image of two of my 1942-S inverted S, and a normal one for comparison.

I guess looking at my own photo. There are three inverted S and one normal S. The bottom left is a lower grade and the mint mark is worn from use.

Sunshine99,

I have been able to come up with about four of these, and if you look you will find them, but be patient I would guess I have looked through over 10,000 dimes to come up with the ones I have. They are out there it is where that is the hard part.
