thanks Thad, there was a 1958-D just about the same condition in there too, didn't get a chance to take pics of it, I will try tonight/in the morning when I get home. it's got either planchet damage or a lot of die scratches, I can't tell, put it in a flip as it came out of the roll, will see when I take the pics- I will post it soon

Probably die polish lines. They really liked to polish the dies in the 50's.

MS65 or MS66 RD depending on the level of luster and the strike on the reverse.

twincam,
Was that in a bank roll or a customer roll? A beautiful coin.

Easy 65, maybe better, if that isn't a "wipe" across the reverse. In any case, heckuva roll find! BTW, interior die cracks (they don't originate off the rim)...nice!

eddiespin, thats NOT a wipe, die polishing, at an angle you can see they are raised
if I ever get a copy stand built, and can find a safe way to hold coins at an angle, I can get pictures.. I'm thinking next weekend will be the time to finally have the time, and energy to git 'er done

Oops, sorry about that, I hadn't read what you said earlier, I just replied off the pictures. Then raised polish lines they are and that's one very lovely gem!
