Finished the top lighting. All I need to do now is felt it and mount the glass. Then work on the draws

Top has been felted and glass laid. The glass was heavier than I thought and I dropped it getting it out of the truck. Took a bit off the corner but by the time its been framed it should not be noticeable.

very very nice job. I've been considering something like this - it may be my winter project.

Haha, re the glass dropping. I used to do picture framing in a former life and learned very quickly... 1. Don't carry sheets larger than about 2ftx3ft when it's windy. 2. If carrying larger sheets then get someone to help you. 3. Use a pair of industrial strength leather gloves and 4. Place the glass on the edge of the receiving surface then tip it up and slide it.
Your work looks very impressive though your work surfaces look as messy as mine constantly did.

In place and wired. All that's left is to make the cut outs for the draws and felt them. My wife has volunteered to cut the felt to the correct size. I have a drill bit on order to make the cut outs for the airtites.

I see you also collect antiques....How much did you pay for that old phone Just kidding of course. Looks pretty sharp. A lot better than my corrugated cardboard box I use to store some of my coins in.

Lined the first draw today It took almost 2 weeks to cut the 1.5 inch holes in the 1/4 inch fiber board then felt the top but the air-tites fit nicely in the depressions and I think it was worth the effort. only 4 more draws to go.
