With the current high price of silver I imagine lots of hoarded coins are coming in to local coin shops. Some coins may really be better than junk silver but they can slip through the cracks. With that in mind, I like to check the dealer bins of assorted silver coins in hopes of finding something nice.
This turned up in the Walker bin, at the standard junk-silver price of $8.75. Seemed like a bargain to me! What grade would you assign?

Looks like a sweet deal to me! I would say XF40, but it might be cleaned.

Certainly a bargain for $8.75! That's a $100 coin in EF, so I hesitant to go that high, but it does look close detail wise.

The damage in the right obverse field likely relegated this piece to the junk bin, but it's still worth way over melt.

man, I love my dealers. I pay about $6.50-$7 for 90% halves at melt.

I don't see any significant damage on this coin, just some faint scratches and small ticks that I attribute to circulation. The surfaces look original to me and I expect any TPG would grade this one (if I were interested in submitting it).

Here's another piece from the same bin. It shows a bit more wear but it makes a nice companion to the '29-D.

Excellent finds! I agree that they both look like original problem free VF/XF walkers.

Yeah, that right obv field is what made me think cleaned. It might not look cleaned in hand. We all know that photos can bring out the smallest issues.

Two fantastic buys, for sure! I grade the first one at EF.

Now you're just braggin'. Of course, if I'd just scored those, I'd be braggin' too.

This, friends, is what we mean when we use the term "cherrypick."

I was looking at "IN" and "WE" and the marks above and below those words. As noted, it may just be from circulation and neither cleaned nor damaged.

Either way, it's a great deal.
