Hi, I have a coin that I was told was very rare by a antique dealer but I'm not sure if hes true.. I found this in my grandfathers closet.. Its a 20 dollor silver coin. The front has 1854 and a ladies head with 13 flower stars around the edge, the back says "san francisco california twenty d" this has a eagle with a shield in the center.. I looked all over the internet and there all in gold,, this is all in silver..any info wld be great...thanks...Todd

Welcome, Goinlower6969!

Sounds to be something based on a Territorial Gold issue from the mid 1800's, but.....

Hard to tell without them!

It's a cast copy of a $20 Pioneer gold piece.

Is there any value to this and is it really from 1854?

They were made as novelty coins or replicas. Worth a few bucks but maybe slightly more to a collector. Welcome to the CCF ;-)
