Hi... I have a Civil War Token from Foster & Metcalf in Grand Rapids, MI... My dad said he found it and then gave it to me..

Sorry I don't have any pictures of it, as I don't really have a good digital camera. I'll try my best to describe it:
Obverse: The words Foster & Metcalf, Grand Rapids, MI in a ring around what looks like an oven or something...
Reverse: "1861- Workers in copper, tin, brass, iron, etc. etc. etc." (This may not be exact as I am using a library's Internet and don't have the coin with me :P)

The coin is in medal rotation and I estimate it to be in VF-30 condition. When my dad gave it to me, the first thing I did was take an ink pen and draw a box around the date.

If anyone has any information on the value of this token, or mintage info, or pictures of another one, please let me know!

Thanks in advance!

My Favorite topics civil war tokens and Michigan.

The catalog # for that store card token is MI370C-1b. As far as rarity it is rated R4 which means 200-500 known to exist. Value always depends on condition....Ink will come off easily with a dip in acetone.

In AU condition it would be worth about $36.00. In VF I would expect it to sell for $15.00-$32.00 on ebay...But that is just a guess.

Here is an closed auction link with a photo
