Got two 2010 20 pence and one 2010 5 pence today.
Still no 2 pence, 10 pence, 50 pence, 1 pound, or 2 pound for me yet.

It's shopping time, the coins will come out. Not sure about the normal 50p, considering the olympic 50ps coming out. I'm finding old design 2008 50ps in circulation though, can't remember if they are worth slightly more, so I keep the ones I find. Is your 20p one that does not have the date on the tail side? (Joking, just saw someone advertising 2008 and 2009 20ps like this on ebay!) |

Hello folks, I've just come back on here after a long time away. I posted "I'm back" on the upfront thread.
I can see that I am in the same position as you all! I have collected, in my change only, decimal coins since 1997, and hope to give them all to our two grandchildren - 'one day'. They are all very shiny, still!
My list of wants are:
1998 and 1999 the £1 and the 10p coins
2008 normal design of the 50p
2008 flag design: £1 and £2 coins
2009 flag design: £2 and 50p coins (not seen any normal design ones)
2010 flag design: £2, £1, 50p, 10p, and 2p
I've also got some half decent 1996 coins and still need the £2, £1 and 50p. I'll be looking for ages for those, I'm sure. I keep them all in little plastic sealed bags for each year. All good so far.

The 1998 and 1999 £1 coins you will be very lucky to find those in circulation, as they did not make them for circulation.
I have found quite a few normal 50p coins from 2008.

Today, in change: 2009 £2.00 Darwin & Burns. 5 x 2010 20p and best of all; 2011 volleyball 50p.

Some good finds. That is the first 2011 50 pence Olympic coin that I have heard of being found.

Today's 50p haul: Boxing, High Jump and what appears to be Wheelchair Bowls.
Pictures later. The scanner's in my office; which is at the end of the garden, which is covered in deep snow.

Too bad that I went to the UK little bit earlier than those coins haven't been released a couple of weeks ago!.. I found two 1 pound coins that has the coat of arms (the old design) and several 2008 shield design 50p. I found a 2009 1 pound (shield design of course) but it is very, very much circulated (even looks worse than those battered down 1 pound coins that are from 90's.. weird!
