i was wondering what you guys think of this coin. I got it off facebook (a friend of a friend) while at college last year. I have been told it was AU or MS. I am not going to sell it but just wanted to find out what you all thought the grade was.

You've got to be careful buying these raw, there are many many fakes out there. The surfaces look off to me, but the detail looks XF+ to AU if problem free and genuine. Could you get some better pictures?

i took the picture with my IPhone. I coin does not have a red tint to it. I have shown it to a few coin dealers and they say it was real but they could not agree on a grade.

I don't care for the color depicted in the pictures...it doesn't look quite right. Maybe it's a good coin. I'd check the weight. At best, I'd say it's a 45, if real.

That's the thing about pictures they don't show the real look of the coin. It is 100% real. I'm new to coin photography and maybe a iPhone picture wasn't the best idea. But that's what I had handy. Thanks for all the responses!

It is 100% real.

I don't want to come across like I'm questioning it, but what evidence do you have that it's real? Was it in a top TPG slab? The only reason I ask is that the fakes coming out for these coins are extremely convincing, made of real gold, and known to even fool dealers.
Rest in Peace

Thankfully though, if its real gold, he didn't get burned that badly since an XF/AU common date of this series isn't worth THAT much more than melt.
