So often what looks like wear on these coins is actually a weak strike. I think this coin is a weaker struck EF40.

I'll go with AU-50 due to the luster that still looks present. Is a nice looking coin.

These are the types of coins I wish they would make today. Nice simple design but still has an artistic appeal to it.

The State Quarters are ok but are getting a little predictable. The journey westward nickel series was a refreshing change for a couple years.

Hi Shatsi

This coin may have been a little weakly struck ,,but wear has over taken any lack of detail which may have been from that cause.

I agree with Susan EF-40 perhaps 45 Depending on the weight given to the reverse by the TPG.

Yes, its graded EF40 by ANACS. I bought it from a Heritage auction, paid a little more than I was planning to but most of the 3 cents I've come across does not have even color like this one, so I relly wanted this one.

Hi Shatsi

Its a very nice looking coin,, and I agree that it is very nicely even colored ,,

Sometimes when I look at coins I will determine that its appearance is worth a feww extra Bucks above the grade.

Hi Shatsi

The few slabs that I have cracked for coins,I used a dremel tool and cut the slab to allow access.

I have since passed on slabbed coins for my Raw collection and no longer buy them.
