I've searched the Internet for over 5 hours . I've also looked in my 2 World Coin Almanac and they only go back to around 1830's/

Information-On-2-PFening-Coin-1761--Hm-Initialsnt Master Inital is HM- Joachim Heinrich Meese.

I believe the Ruler at the time was Friedrich Franz 1785- 1837 German State.
The picture that I have is in another program and I can't submit it tonight., It want attach to this Post and it is made of copper about the same size as a United States Nickel or Cent. Thanks

There's a couple of things that don't add up.

I googled Friedrich Franz, and the only one that matched the year was FF the 1st, Grand Duke of Mecklenburg. There were two coin issuing entities, Mecklenburg-Schwerin and Mecklenburg-Strelitz. Neither one issued the denomination of two pfennig.

The mintmasters initials, as I see it, are NM, not HM.

Maybe when you post the complete pictures we'll have better leads.

This coin is from the Archbishopric of Trier. The ornate IPC monogram is that of Johann Philipp von Walderdorf. The mintmasters initials NM are those of Nikolaus Martinengo. KM# 271. This example on eBay sold for 2.62 euros.

Thank you all for providing me with this information. It was found Metal Detecting in the United States. Must have alot of History during its travel. SAP---How did you find your information and the K M # 271.
