looks like an extra floor in between columns 1 2 and 3. what is this?

Is there any Machine Doubling on other devices. I remember finding some in 1999 that had some marking like this. It affected just the planters and it was Machine Doubling.

There is one listed on coppercoins.com . But the doubling is entirely different than your coin.

same picture here, went back to look for md (couldn't find any) but did find some lines on the steps under the areas in question. I have them on the second pic layed out with red arrows. what else do ya think. I might need to take a new pic to show the lines better. let me know if so.

It looks like Machine Doubling to me.
Error coin writer and researcher.

I won't argue the point, but I am curious as to how MD can occur in certain spots, and not in others, depending on the position on the working die. They would be out of reach, it seems to me, buut,I am not that experienced to know, so....Thanks for your comments.

Remember what we are looking at is microscopic. The slightest movement in the wrong direction can affect the coins. They can vary in die movement even from strike to strike with Machine Doubling.
