i think you could get a little more for them but 35 aint to bad. usually walkers and mercs go for melt plus a little extra from what I have seen. theses are dirty and unappealing though probably why your getting offered less. oh by the way

I chose not to clean them, to avoid wrecking them. Leave to somebody who knows what hey are doing. Also could too clean also detract the value?
These were mounted in a belt, you can see on some of the coins how they were in a frame - clean edge, dirty middle.

From what I see most are common dates but difficult to tell for sure. Could not hurt them much by trying to dip them in some Acetone just to see if some of that dirt comes off. Or just some distilled water. The dirt makes them look a lot worse than they really are. Some are really in decent shape. Always be carefull with the 1942 Mercury dimes. There is a 42/41 and a 42D/41 which both are way up there in values. The 42/41 is really easily noticed. The 42D/41 is kind of difficult to tell. Mercury dimes are notorious for rotated reverses and some as much as 180degrees so watch for that also. All of your halves would sell for about $7 each at a coin show in G-4 grade and yours are far better than that. Possibly a total of about $40 for the halves alone as a selling price. A dealer should offer you about 20% less for just the halves.

I would go to a couple dealers and get quotes from them.

Looks like PVC damage on quite a few of them. Try the acetone as it will not harm the coins and you might get more for them. To most dealers, they are worthless with the PVC scum on them other than silver spot less some percent.

You should haggle for $40 - I'd be happy as a seller at that price with those coins.

They may be dirty but they look to be a little better than the average Walker and a lot better than the average Merc I see for sale around my area. I think $35 would be an OK price for them. I could pick up that lot at a local pawn shop for around $30-$35. If you shopped them around you could probably get $40.

And one more thing, If you had the required 250 posts on here to be able to sale I would give $40-$45 for them because I love Walkers and Mercs any way. But in all honesty I feel that the Walkers alone would be worth close to $40 retail according to numismedia.

It seems to me from the above, that 10 to 12 x face is the going rate for common average circulated 90% silver.

according to (124) This link is not allowed by the Staff , the OP is correct that the silver value alone is over $45(maybe take off a dollar or 2 for wear, but not much). I tend to think they are more valuable and should sell for $45-$50. edit: I keep forgetting about the no link rule..

I went for convenience and a quick sale, sold for $35 off my front door step this morning. Buyer woiuldn't budge to $40. But I did not have to drive anywhere to go sell. Not a bad pick - I got the belt for free 7 years ago. The things people throw away...
Looks like it was better to sell now with Silver at 18, as opposed to 7 years ago at 5.

My shop pays 10x face so you got a fair price for those. They would be in the junk silver category for sure.
