OK, I am getting used to seeing MD now but this ones is confusing me. It is a 1964 Cent pulled from a mint set.

The '4' seems to be doubled (notched) on the diagonal.
The "B" in Liberty seems to be messed up also.
There is also doubling on "IN GOD WE TRUST" but I think that is MD.

It is not doubling as in hub doubling. It is a form of Machine Doubling. I think the mark on the 4 on the left edge of the cross bar is common. I check a few from this year and the first one had it. The other two I checked it wasn't there, but they were later die state coins. So they may be present on earlier die state coins. Something to watch for on the early 60's cents is the bar under the L on LIBERTY. On one I found a bar above the 4. So it appears that the hubbing rotated sightly and made the marks on the opposite sides of the outer devices.

Your coin is an EDS coin. Just compare it to others you have in BU. You can see how clean the devices/field areas are. I would mark it an EDS and keep it just for that.

Do you happen to have one of your amazing pics of a EDS, MDS, LDS cent for a comparison?

dumprat: Here is something I threw together. These were just examples from a roll I searched. Sorry no EDS examples there or VLDS examples. I can add to when I get more examples.
