Pretty good Price the melt value of the silver stand s at $133.25 currently so you paid only a small premium over melt which is great for Barbers,,,

Wow! Great price! Did you buy them as numismatics or for the silver?

Great buy. I always wonder why so many use that term MELT. So few that say that have no idea how to melt one down anyway nor know anyone that does know how to melt them. Some appear to be in decent shape. Hopefully you have a price list for how much they are really worth. Those are the one coin I've always found that are really to worn or something for a Whitman Album. They fall behind the front sheeet of paper over the slots. I'll try a Dansco next. You should lay them all out and see how close you come to a set.

I have the Technology to melt them down but I doubt I would do so.. I have melted silver bars to make stuff with but I doubt I would melt a coin as I would have to refine it. Which I cannot do.

Just Carl - I play on the precious metals field as well as the numismatic field. I use PMs to store wealth vs. the constant erosion of the value of FRNs, but my first love was collecting coins. I prefer to call it the spot price since I don't plan to ever melt any coins.

When I refer to coins at melt value, the melt part is purely hypothetical.

I didn't like Barbers, but now I am starting to come around to the design...

Nice cache of quarters. I prefer the 90% silver coins vs. the bullion ingots and sorts due to the fact because the coins are collectible and also can act as a sort of investment.

That was a good deal! I like the Barber series, I just wish the quarters weren't so expensive in grades of fine+; just about as costly as halves in the same grades. ffd
