Stopped by the B&M yesterday and inquired about them having any junk silver...I'm burning myself out on nickels lately. They had just gotten in $168 of Silver quarters. After a little hesitancy, I found they'd let me take them home and search them and return what I didn't want. Sounds like they'll be charging me 13x face for what I choose to keep, which seems to be a fair price.

I came across this 1964-D that I fell in love with, my pictures don't capture the luster that is under the beautiful crust. I'd be interested in any grade opinions.

I also pulled a 1924 Standing Liberty quarter pictured here: https://goccf.com/t/69781

Among the Washington's were 10 Barbers, all well worn, and 6 dated Standing Liberty's along with 4 Dateless SLQ's (two with S's).

At $3.25 each, I'm planning to keep all the Barbers as well as the dated SLQ's except for one that was heavily cleaned. Any advice on whether the Barbers and dateless SLQ's are worth holding on to?

Planning on selling off 4 rolls of my 40% JFK's found at face this summer to pay for the 53 quarters I intend to keep. Figured less than $40 cost basis to get myself into $13.25 face of 90% is a pretty good deal at this point.

I definitely will be searching some more of these bulk junk boxes.

Beautiful coin! I love how the back is that dark tone to it and the rest is silver!

I myself would pass on dateless SLQ if they are type 2. I would keep dated Barbers unless they are damaged or cleaned.

That's pretty cool that they let you take over $2K worth of silver quarters home to search through them. I dont know of any shops around here that would do that. Most dont even let customers cherry pick through the junk silver while in the store.

I've developed a good relationship with the shop owner over the past year, and I did have to leave some security to do so. Regardless, I thought it was pretty exceptional also.

What a great way to get silver! I love bullion piles as I have cherry picked some really great stuff over the years. Don't forget to learn which Washington quarters are rare as those are some you should be keeping as well. A lot of this stuff has been melted over the years so there is a lot less available than most people think. Best wishes on your search! Sincerely, John Leckrone

Speaking of rare quarters - I've searched hundereds of dollars face of silver quarters from different sources and still have found a grand total of 0 1958-P quarters. I suggest you grab them at 13x face if they come up.
