Or is that Rouble?

I've got this Russian Ruble which I believe to be Y 153.2 that I grade at VF. I would like confirmation on my ID, the clock face is a little soft and my grading as this coin doesn't have many high points that I can use to show wear. Along with that what are your opinions on what I first thought to be a scratch on the obverse. Is there a chance it could be a die break or something? I don't see any indication of it on the reverse but don't even know if a break like this shows on both sides. I can though, see the crack across the top of the one and also down in the low points which makes me pretty sure it's not a scratch. My grade is based on my belief that this is a flaw, not a scratch; Is my assumption wrong?

Thanks,
Glen

Hi, I would use "Rouble" but it depends on your transliteration. Looking at the photo and some specimens I would say low VF or F+ with details grading as scratched on the obverse. A die crack would result in some raised line on the surface. The scratch is incuse and its shape and rise and fall bears the hallmarks of a deep disfiguring scratch.

No doubt it has seen rough circulation and particularly with that scratch I would grade it F also. I feel lucky to have the coin anyways as it was given to me by my son who picked it up in Afghanistan during his last tour over their with the Marines.

Rouble is the accepted transliteration.

To know whether it is Y153.1 or Y 153.2 you will need to be able to read the Roman Numerals on the clock face. Y153,2 shows VI (6) instead of IV (4)
