I have @ 3 2007 nickels with the reverse showing a phonograph finish. I'm assuming they are lathe marks from when the die was turned before engraving. Is this correct and do these have any value as an error or even considered an error? Sorry no pics, I dont have that capability at this time. Thanks WOLF

A circular scratch around the center?
If it's what I'm thinking of these are just marks from a sorting/vending machine roller.
Probably worth nothing.
But if your talking about something else then I'm not sure, someone more knowledgable would know.

Do they look like this? https://goccf.com/t/65826
if so then they are lathe marks and have a premium, how much I don't know.

It all depends on whether these "marks" are incuse into the surface or whether they are in relief.

I have a couple of cents with those marks but I have not seen them on nickels.

O.K. so these are lathe lined 2008 and can be seen at the following links. I am so stoked to have these on an error site. WOLF

Very cool Wolf! It's fun to find stuff like that!

At the beginning of the thread you said you had 3 of them. Did Jason determine that one of them was a duplicate of the same die?

No! Thought I had three, only came up with two. But I did find Two 1996-D obverse cents with lathe lines also. WOLF

That's pretty cool! I'd like to see those, too. I've never found any lathe lines before.
