Moe - I think you're light... you need a few more! Alright, alright, more intimidation! But since I picked up this cute lil girl today, I just had to add her. I have some other dimes, but I think this might be the best one - at least on the obverse. And heck - she's a good year! Hopefully her humility will inspire some more cool posts.

Hooooly mackeral cwb - that is gorgeous!
Verm - did you buy it certified or did you send it off yourself? I got a capped quarter today and it's a lovely coin - the kind I think people might prefer raw. There's nothing suspicious about it. But on the other hand, I'm sending in a bunch, so I was thinking about throwing it in the pile... Does a solid, problem free coin require certification to get the best return? (Sorry for drifting OT)
'71 cc... me likey!

Quote: Verm - did you buy it certified or did you send it off yourself? I purchased it years ago from Southgate Coins in Reno, I spoke with the owner, Rusty Goe who authored the book "The Mint on Carson Street". He estimates about 300 surviving examples in all grades. I had to have it Oh, I purchased it raw back then.

She's nothing special but she's all I've got. She's used and abused and drilled halfway through, but special nonetheless. This is my only seated anything. It was given to me by my great uncle over 30 years ago. He was a big-time collector who heard I was interested in coins so he gave me a handful to whet my appetite. I guess it worked because here I am, 3 decades later, still going!

I was able to get a couple ugly Seated halves at melt earlier, a 71 and a 75. The 75 is probably only FR-02, but the other is a G4 with a bit of corrosion damage and some odd raised lumps. Maybe it was used in jewelry at some point.

That dime is beautiful Johnny. I need a proof dime to complete my Seated Set.
