Today I decided to go back to some of the deer camps that I have detected at because of a couple roads that I havn't checked. The 1st large camp that I came to was full of trash, and I mean a dump truck load. Some sorry **** dumped a huge load of trash at a very nice campsite. It really made me sick to look around at some of the bags that have bee scattered by wildlife.
Does anyone remember years ago the commercial on TV with the indian with a tear running down his cheek as he looked at the trashed up area's? Well anyhow, thats how I felt today. I hope they catch the lowlifes that has done this. I would love to see them on a chaingang picking up trash along the roadsides. I'm Discusted.

I hate crap like that-absolutely can't stand it. Why go out to the forest with the sole purpose of ruining it? I'm reminded not of an indian but a cowboy-- you know, the one who says through gritted teeth "git a rope."

Sadly I see that sort of thing here in eastern North Carolina all the time. We have many public dump sites that you can take your trash too all they ask is you sort the glass, cans, and plastics and place them in the proper container. I went this past spring to detect a site where some very old homes had been flooded out during hurricane Floyd back in 1999 and have since been torn down. When I got there I found piles upon piles of garbage where the houses once sat. It was not demolition debris, all that had been hauled away when they were torn down seven years ago. The whole place is, in my opinion, a historic site. It is where Gen. John G. Foster encamped the Union army before the 1st battle of Kinston.

It is sad what some people are doing to our environment.

It's sickening to see what some lazy @#&!*?@#! do just because they don't want to go through the proper channels to dispose of their trash. My family owns a farm with some forest acreage and we find this type of thing all the time and the public landfill is only 2 miles away!

I used to own a piece of property on the river that was pretty remote. I got it from a guy that had bought from the State 15 years before, it used to be a public picnic area. By the time I bought it had been in private hands for almost 20 years, with No Trespassing signs prominently posted.

From the very first day I owned it I had people trespassing. I tried the nice guy route, telling people they could fish as long as they cleaned up. I gave up after the first couple months due to people's poor attitude. People would tell me I couldn't keep them off the property because their family had been coming there for 30 years. They would also tear down gates & fences to get access. Once I realized people wouldn't act right I started calling the Sheriff & having them arrested.

I've traveled quite a bit and have lived in many small towns over the years. All small towns are just alike and most of the people respect the area in which they live. There is always a couple locals who have no respect for themselves let alone others. Most of them get caught doing something, but there is always that family member who bails them out. Maybe the judges need to set ridiculous bails out there for them, a little jailtime is what they need.
