XF45 (not sure if those reverse spots are just dirt or divots thought). Otherwise, nice example. For this year this is a very typical grade as there are plenty of AU-MS examples too.

I have this self-graded on my Excel spreadsheet as an EF-40.

With only 36,501 minted, an 1888 3 cent nickel EF-40 is still only $75 (per the 2010 RedBook).

A great deal! It's time for you to start your 3 Cent collection!
